This book is one of my favorites! Excellent illustrations and easy to read and this can teach students responsibility, care of an animal and extinction.

365 Penguins
365 Penguins by Jean-Luc Fromental and Joelle Jolivet, is about a penguin that is shipped to a house each day and a family tries to fit them in their home. As the number of penguins grow they find better ways to feed and shelter these penguins. When 365 penguins have arrived, their Uncle Victor, the ecologist, explains that it was he who had shipped them over due to the melting of their habitat. In order to stop them from distinction he shipped one by one until he found a better home for them.
Albuquerque Turkey
Albuquerque Turkey by B.G. Ford, is about a turkey named Albuquerque that follows the farmer all around while he prepares his Thanksgiving dinner. He goes out to the market, out to the farmer, ad around town while Albuquerque tries and figures out what he's going to make. The farmer decided not to eat his best friend Albuquerque and instead makes egg foo yong for the both of them.
This book is an easy to read poem and good for a laugh. A good story put into a poetry rhyme. Great use of animals and celebrating holidays such as Thanksgiving, different food to wat such as egg foo yong.
Today I will Fly!
Today I want to Fly! by Mo Williams is about a Piggie who wants to fly and is determined, but Piggies friend Gerald the elephant says that Piggie can't fly. So Piggie tries everything to make him/her fly: Jumping off Gerld, being scared, etc.
I think that this book is good for introduction to early learning of animals, determination, and the impossible. A great book to teach children that they can achieve what they want if they jut keep on trying. The illustrations are simple and easy for children to understand what is going just by looking at the pictures. I highly recommend this book.

Number the Stars-Lois Lowery
An excellent book about 2 best friends, one is Jewish and the other is not, live their lives
through the war in 1943. Annemarie and her family help her best friend Ellen Rosen and her family from being captured from the Nazi's.
This book can teach history, culture, diversity, develops acceptance, awareness, and you learn about yourself. It also stimulates conversation and questions.
I can't say anything bad about the book but that I enjoyed every chapter of the book and there was not one boring point.

A Wrinkle in Time- Madeleine L'Engle
A book I highly recommend for young readers ages 12 and up. The book is about a girl named Meg and her intelligent5 year old brother Charles Wallace who travel back in time to find their missing father. Mrs Whatsit, Mrs Who, and Mrs Which, friends of Charles, turn out to be transcendental beings who transport Meg, Charles, and Meg's friend Calvin through the galaxy. Mrs Whatsit and her friends guide them along the journey to battle The Black Thing who has captured their father. I enjoyed reading this book very much because it's exciting, interesting, and leaves a lot to the imagination. It also stimulates conversation and questions, touches emotions, and definitely a book all children can relate to.
